Four Officers Caught DUI over New Year’s Day
One of the major causes of injuries on the roads is people who drive under the influence of alcohol. Every year, thousands of people get killed and injured because of alcohol. Anyone could be affected by this substance, even people who are responsible for arresting people who drink and drive.
Four Atlanta public safety employees are under investigation after a DUI investigation revealed that they were drinking and driving around New Year’s Day. One officer allegedly struck a hydrant in Buckhead with his personal vehicle. He was found with two open containers of beer in his car. Another officer that was caught has since resigned from the force.
It’s unfortunate that officers of the law were caught drinking and driving. It doesn’t take much to impair judgment. Many drunk drivers report that they felt they were safe to drive before their arrest. However, it can sometimes take more alcohol than the 0.08 BAC limit to notice impairment.
