Crash Stops would-be Burglar in Stone Mountain

Accidents happen for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes innocent bystanders get caught up in events beyond their control, as a Dekalb County SUV driver learned recently.

When police officers arrived at the scene of a burglary-in-progress in the Stone Mountain area, the burglar fled the scene in a vehicle. The authorities pursued the suspect in their squad cars, moving at high speed toward Clarkston.  The suspect attempted to pass a stopped SUV, but the SUV was turning left and the suspect hit the side of the stopped car. Both the suspect’s vehicle and the SUV overturned, ending the chase. The police apprehended the burglar and retrieved the stolen items. But the driver of the SUV sustained injuries and serious damage to the vehicle.
